28th Mayor April Hogue

CTE instructor at Cambridge (Continuation) High School, Fresno Unified School District in S/E Fresno.  April Smith Hogue, grew up locally, the daughter of late longtime high school biology teacher Roswell Smith and Carol Pera of Dos Palos.  Her sister Loni Smith Henderson was married to late Oakland A’s baseball player Dave Henderson.  She attended Dos Palos High School, graduated from Fresno State earning a BA in Industrial Arts with an emphasis on Graphic Design and Advertising.  After college, moved to Seattle to pursue a career in Graphic Design.  Ms. Hogue worked as a designer for a contract food company and later obtained a vocational education credential from Cal State Sacramento.  In 2001, she returned to Dos Palos, teaching Graphic Arts through 2010.  She worked as a sales professional for Lifetouch National School Studios in photography and yearbook production.  April Hogue is an accomplished musician, performing in a duo called “It’s Just Us.”  She has a grown daughter and son.  In 2016, Ms. Hogue was elected as the City’s first woman mayor. In 2020, she was re-elected to a second full city council term ending November 19, 2024.

Councilmember Thomas Pigg

Retired Local Trucking Company Owner, prominent charitable event cook.  Serves on the Dos Palos Bronco Athletic Hall of Fame Board of Directors, Wastewater JPA Board of Directors, Member of the Lions Club, Served 20 years on the Dos Palos-Oro Loma Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees.  Mr. Pigg and his wife Betty have been married over 50 years.  Councilmember Pigg was elected to a full city council term ending November 15, 2022.

 

Councilmember Debbie Orlando

Bookkeeper.  Born and raised in Los Banos, California, graduated from Los Banos High School, attended Merced Jr. College, her late husband was raised in Dos Palos and they moved back in 2011.  She has worked in agriculture most of her adult life, from a ranch secretary to Operations Manager of a cotton gin, and now as a bookkeeper.  She is a former 4-H leader and served as President of the Los Banos Ag Boosters.  She has volunteered at the Dos Palos Hot Summer Nights Downtown Street Car Show for more than 20 years and other Lions Club events.  Ms. Orlando has one adult daughter.  Councilmember Orlando was elected to a full city council term which ends November 15, 2022.

Councilmember Armando Bravo

Business Owner, Restaurant Owner/Operator, Caterer. Armando Bravo has served as a city recreation and school athletics coach. He is active as a civic leader in hosting forums, food distributions, crafts fairs and farmer's markets, Halloween trunk or treat, Christmas toy drives, and other community events. Councilmember Bravo is elected to a full city council term ending November 19, 2024.

Councilmember Marcus Porter

Business Marketing Consultant/Restaurant Manager.  Born and raised in Dos Palos, Marcus attended Dos Palos schools and graduated from Dos Palos High School. He attended Fresno State and majored in Mass Communication & Journalism-Advertising and Business Marketing.  Mr. Porter has worked for the The Fresno Bee and at advertising agencies in Fresno.  He returned to Dos Palos in 2013 where he founded Max Marketing & Print, a local marketing consulting firm and is the Advertising Director for the The Dos Palos Sun.  He has served as Assistant Athletic Director at Dos Palos High School and is a former board member of various athletic booster clubs.   Marcus is currently a Board member of KDPT-FM 102.9 Dos Palos Radio and a founding member of the Dos Palos Toy Drive Group.   Councilmember Porter is elected to a full city council term ending November 19, 2024.

City Council meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm,

in the City-County Building located at 1554 Golden Gate Avenue in Dos Palos.
